Wilshire Vista Street Signs

The WVNA Board has made significant progress in our initiative to replace the faded Wilshire Vista street signs throughout the neighborhood. We are grateful to those who have donated and are more than halfway to our fundraising goal! We kindly invite the community to support this initiative by donating today, showcasing your pride in our neighborhood, and helping us reach our target.

Please show your support and donate!

Halloween Haunt

This year’s event was our best yet and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing community. We extend gratitude to our sponsors and amazing volunteers for their contributions.

We had the distinct honor of welcoming Mayor Karen Bass and Councilwoman Heather Hutt to our festive block party—thank you for joining us and supporting our community celebration!

Pico Community Beautification Event

Pico Community Beatification Project is adding green spaces to our Council District 10. Destination Pico aims to transform Pico Boulevard into a vibrant, walkable, beautiful place we all can enjoy.

Rosina Jacobs, WVNA Board Member was among the community volunteers planting trees, shrubs, and flowers at the event. When the community comes together, it makes a difference!

Land Use Projects

The proposals to elevate the spaces at 5510 Pico and 5500 Pico have been approved by Pico NC and are moving forward to city planning. The owners of Mad Lab Coffee and Joe's Pizza plan to develop a food hall-type restaurant with three dining options and an ice cream shop at 5510 Pico and convert Okay Liquor at 5500 Pico into an up-market bar. We’ll continue to share updates on these exciting neighborhood projects as they develop.

On November 14 the Land Use Committee had a presentation on the proposed Affordable Housing project at 5750 San Vicente Blvd. This project will include demolishing the existing building and constructing a new 7-story, 100% affordable housing project, consisting of 46 units. The discussion included information on affordable housing and Mayor Bass' Executive Directive (ED1) Ordinance.

The Land Use Committee is working to get progress updates on the project at 6052 Olympic and information on the Housing Element Rezoning program. We will keep you informed as new information becomes available.
